Giza is located on the west bank of the Nile, 4.9 km southwest of Cairo the capital. To clarify, we’ll be your guide to Giza’s most famous attractions to make your visit much easier.

The Pyramids Complex:

The complex consists of The Great Pyramid, The Three Pyramids and The Sphinx.

The Great Pyramid:

The oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex that weighs 6 million ton. It is surrounded by a complex of several buildings including small pyramids. However, we recommend you visit The Pyramid in the morning because they only allow a limited number of visitors daily.

The Three Pyramids:

The pyramids were built as tombs for the country’s pharaohs (kings). They consist of The Great Pyramid, the smaller Pyramid of Khafre, and the modest-sized Pyramid of Menkaure.

The Sphinx:

It is a statue of a human’s face (Egyptologists think it is King Khafre’s) with the body of a lion. The Great Sphinx is the oldest monumental sculpture of ancient Egypt. It’s common that the sphinx’s nose was shot off by Napoleon’s French army. Moreover, it is located near the banks of the Nile, facing the east towards the sunrise.

Solar Boat Museum:

There are two beliefs about the purpose of this boat: some people think that the boat was buried for the pharaoh’s journey through the heavens. on the other hand, some think that the boat was for religious rituals of the sun-god “Raa”. The museum is a few meters far from the southern side of The Great Pyramid.

Saqqara:

Saqqara is where you can see the world-famous Step pyramid of Djoser with its rectangular base. 16 Egyptian kings built pyramids in Saqqara as tombs. Saqqara is an ancient burial ground in Egypt. Similarly the necropolis for the Ancient Egyptian capital, Memphis.

Memphis:

This city was the boundary between Upper and Lower Egypt. It was the Capital of Egypt during the old Kingdom as King Menes founded it in about 3100 BC. It has an open-air museum with many monuments varying in size and shape between small pieces and very large pieces.

Dahshur:

It’s a royal necropolis located in the desert on the west bank of the Nile. Dahshur witnessed one of the most interesting learning experiences in Ancient Egypt. King Sneferu wanted to make the first attempt at building a smooth-sided pyramid. As a result, he built “The Bent Pyramid’ which didn’t make a success due to the miscalculations made on the structural weight. Luckily, the second attempt was very successful and “The Red Pyramid” was the resting place of King Sneferu.
